  1. The significance of Montag seeing his reflection in Clarisse's eyes was that it was his first time that he ever notices or get a glance at who he really is and that he knows that the man he is, is not who he would be at all. When he got home after talking with Clarisse, he admits to himself that he is not happy and has actually broken the law too, by having a book hidden behind the grill. As Montag recalled a childhood memory, he wanted that moment to last as if it was back then with his mother.

  2. When Montag sees his reflection in Clarisse's eyes he sees the guy he is suppose to be. He sees the real him. That is when he begins to change. He begins to think and try to see things differently. Antisocial means not wanting to talk or be by people. In Fahrenheit 451 it means not being normal and not fitting into society. Clarisse is called antisocial by her school.

    1. I agree with your comment on number 5. But exactly how is Clarisse antisocial at her school? Overall, both of your responses are very good.

  3. I believe thhe significance of Montag seeing his reflection in Clarisse's eyes is because he took time to stop and notice not just her eyes, but look even deeper and notice himself. Since everything goes so fast, for the first time he took time to reconize himself in her.

Also during the book when they are aout to burn a woman's house, the woman says, "Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out." I bliee it means something along the lines of, that people will keep reading books and that no matter how many houses they burn there will always be more houses to burn. So the fire of houses will be constant and will be ever lasting.

  4. #1: The significance of Montag seeing his reflection in Clarrise's eyes, was that Montag saw what he had become, and that he had changed deeply since meeting Clarrise. He is now talking more to common people, when he should be more focused on his work

#5: Antisocial means that a person does not like being around people as well as well as socializing with them. In "Fahrenheit 451", this term means to not be normal, and to stay away from the outside world. This word is a great way to describe Clarrise, because she always seems like she's lonely, and she finally found a friend in Montag.

  5. 1. What is the significance of montag seeing his reflection in clarisses eyes. Montag sees himself in clarisses eyes like he never had seen himself before. Montag likes clarisse so therefore montag himself sees himself as ok i can do this. As montag and clarisse walk and talk they start too see what eachother are like. Thats the significance of montag seeing his reflection in clarisses eyes.

    6. Summarize the explanation beatty talked about the fireman arose. Beatty needs montag because he is a very good fireman. Montag called in sick. So beatty came to mildred and montags house, he started telling him about why books are not allowed anymore. Montag ignored beatty for the most part, therefore beatty felt like he was invisible. lastly beatty and montag finish there conversation with talking about jobs now and then.

  6. 5. Anti-social means that you don't talk to many people becuase either you don't want to, you're scared of them, or don't like them. In Farenheit 451 however, anti-social means the opposite, it means that you do talk to people. In the book, Clarice said that society saw her as aanti-social when in fact, she was social in her classes. The reason that people saw her as anti-social was because in the era that her and Montag lived, you were told the answers in class and weren't allowed to talk to your classmates.

    6. The need for firemen arose becuase society wanted to make the intellectual children who could read equal to the rest of society who couldn't. Beatty had said that 'back in the day' the school children would beat on the 'smart' child becuase he had made them feel stupid in class.

  8. 1.When Montag sees his reflection in Clarisse's eyes he sees the real him. He has a better understanding of society.

2.Antisocial means that you don't talk to many people. You do not like to socilize in any event. But In Farenheit 451, anti-social means the opposite. It means that you do not want to fit into society. In the book, Clarrise's school did not allow anyone to talk. You were told the answers and no questions asked, except for Clarisse, who talked during class.

  9. 5)Antisocial means in the book Fahrenheit 541 that you aren't like everyone else. They all have to be in the same little box and not look outside of it. It is applied to Clarisse. She doesn't think like everyone and so the school considers her crazy and has to go to a therapist.

1)The significance of Montag seeing his reflection in Clarisse's eyes was that he see's something that he has never seen before. He likes her as you can tell. always waits for her and when she doesnt show he gets very worried

  10. 1)The significance of Montag seeing his reflection in Clarisse's eyes was that he notice who he really is.

    5) Antisocial means someone who do not like to be associated with people. In 451, you are different from others. It obviously apply to Clarisse because she thinks abnormally.

  12. When someone is Antisocial they are unable to associate in a normal or friendly way other people. In the book, Clarisse had explained that she is social but in a different way. She believes that people never ask questions they just shout out answers. That's not social to her. Sometimes she's also afraid of people her own age.
The significane of Montag seeing his reflection in Clarisses eyes was that he finally realized he wasnt who he though he was. When Clarisse asked him if he was happy he was shocked. He thought he was happy but then realized he wasn't.

  13. #5 Anti social is when you don't talk much, your very anti social with people. you don't talk people much. In Fahrenheit 451 anti social means to talk to every one and to be open.

    1. I think anti social in the story meant that you talked to people, just all had to have the same conformity concept. There for, not be very open minded.

  14. 1. The signification of montag seeing his reflection in Clarisse's eyes is that he could be his self around her. When he looked in to her eyes he could see the person he really is and he's not the person he is when he's around his friends and family.

    4. The signification on the women who burned herself is she didn't want anyone else but herself to put her house on fire just because she has books In her house. This means that she didn't like the idea of fighter fighters burning down people's house because they have books. The effect on montag is that he knows that what he has to do for his job isn't right and he wants to stop but he can't.

  16. Molly Bingenheimer

#3: Montag uses a simile on page 9 paragraph two describing Clarisse using phrases like "a kind of gentle hunger that touched over everything with a tireless curiosity." By this he meant there was a sense of need to understand things, anything, everything in the way she did things, in the way she moved and looked about the world.

#5: Antisocial in this society means to have your own a opinion and think into things, question things. Being anti social is not following the conformity, and flow of things in this future setting.

  17. #4 Antisocialism is where a person is very shy and doesn't talk to anyone as other people. For example a kid sitting at a lunch table by himself compared to the tbale next to him with a full table.
#1 The significance of Montag seeing his reflection in Clarisse’s eyes is that he is himself when he is around her. When his is around friends and family he acts totally different. Montag needs to be himslef all the time not every once in a while.
